FRIENDS OF THE CAMPTON LIBRARY
Library WEB SITE
Over the past six years, a Town Committee has been working to have a new, free-standing library built. Earlier this year, a new phase began when the Town requested area architects to submit proposals with drawings and costs of a new building. An architectural firm has been selected and will meet with the committee this summer. Informational community meetings will be held. Voting to build the library will take place at the 2023 Town Meeting.
The FRIENDS play a vital role in helping the Library by providing activities involving our community, such as offering passes to Squam Lakes Science Center and Currier Museum and also bringing in authors for book readings. In the future, the FRIENDS will be involved in applying for grants and funds for furnishings, tables, computers, the niceties that will make the Library ours.
As we apply for these grants, it is important to show that the Campton community supports these efforts and wants to achieve the goal of providing resources sorely needed in Campton. When asked, “How many members do the Friends have?”, we would like to be able to include you and your family.
We are asking you to join the FRIENDS of the CAMPTON PUBLIC LIBRARY. There are no membership requirements; participation in the library’s programs is optional. We appreciate any help you may give as well as suggestions you may offer.
