Campton Forward is a Political Committee as defined in NH RSA 664.2 III (a)
and complies with applicable statues.
BY-LAWS
SECTION 1 NAME
The name of this organization shall be Campton Forward.
SECTION 2 OBJECTIVES
The purpose of Campton Forward shall be:

Campton Forward is a coalition of area residents with diverse political backgrounds, attitudes, and points of view. We recognize as members with voting privileges (a) Campton residents who (b) support the group’s Objectives and (c) have attended at least four of the last twelve meetings.
Campton Forward requests, but does not require, an annual $10.00 contribution of each member to support normal business operations of the group.

Amendment of By Laws
Campton Forward may amend these by-laws at any properly noticed meeting by a two-thirds vote, provided there are at least ten (10) members present at the time.
RULES OF ORDER
Meetings are informal, but in the case of process disputes, Roberts Rules of Order shall be employed as they may be applicable to the proceedings.

BY-LAWS
SECTION 1 NAME
The name of this organization shall be Campton Forward.
SECTION 2 OBJECTIVES
The purpose of Campton Forward shall be:
- To promote the progressive ideals and principles of the organization (See Our Core Interests)
- To promote the involvement of Campton’s citizens in the workings of our government by keeping members informed and engaged in the democratic process, and by so doing, to aid our government to function effectively as a true democracy and a government representative of the people.
SECTION 3 FUNCTIONS
- Campton Forward unites its members and the community around progressive ideas for improving our town, state, and nation.
- We gather to hear and consider issues facing our community.
- We keep members informed on and promote involvement in the workings of our government, in the town of Campton and beyond, by sharing meeting and event schedules, agendas, and documentation.
- We host political candidates and officials at forums and meet-and-greet events.
- We organize local participation in the democratic process.
SECTION 4 MEMBERSHIP

- To provide leadership consistent with the interests of the group.
- To see that the Functions of the group are executed in accordance with the groups Objectives.
- To preside over meetings of Campton Forward.
The duties of the Vice Chair shall be:
- To assist the Chair in the leadership of the group.
- To undertake all the duties of the Chair when the Chair is unavailable.
The duties of the Treasurer shall be:
- To manage the financial affairs of the group, including receipt of income such as dues or donations, disbursement of payments, and the regular reporting of the state of those affairs to the group.
- To, when required, report to the New Hampshire Secretary of State the group’s expenditures and contributions as defined in RSA 664:6 and scheduled on the New Hampshire Political Calendar.
The duties of the Secretary shall be:
- To manage the records of the group, including the roll of voting members.
- To draft minutes of the group’s meetings, and manage corrections, adoptions, distribution and posting of minutes. Drafting meeting minutes may be delegated to a designee.
Other Officer-Level Duties:
- Manage, develop, and maintain the Campton Forward Website
- Manage, develop, and maintain the Campton Forward “Listserv” Gmail service
- Manage, develop, and maintain the Campton Forward Info email list
- Develop and distribute informational communications for the group
- Develop and distribute public relations communications to be published in local media, as appropriate
- Maintain relations with venue owners/operators, securing appropriate meeting space for monthly group meeting
- Arrange for candidates to appear before the group during campaign cycles in which they will be on the Campton ballot
- Arrange for elected officials for whom Campton is a constituency, to appear before the group
SECTION 6 COMMITTEES
The following committees of the group shall be formed:
- Executive Committee to consist of the Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary, and to act as the leadership council of the group
- Such other standing and/or ad-hoc committees, such as Charitable Giving, or the annual Candidates’ Forum committee, as the group may deem necessary and appropriate to fulfill and promote the organization’s purposes. All chairs of any ad hoc committees formed shall report on progress to the group.
SECTION 7 CONDUCT OF MEETINGS
Quorum
Quorum shall be met when the Chair (or Vice Chair), the Secretary and at least three non-executive board members are in attendance.

- Introduction of guests
- Report of Secretary and Adoption of Minutes
- Unfinished Business
- New Business
- Reports of any standing or ad-hoc committees
- Report on Campton Select Board
- Report on Campton Conservation Commission
- Report on Campton Library
- Report on Campton Garden Club
- Address by guest, if any
- Open Floor
- Adjourn
Amendment of By Laws

CUSTOMS
- Campton Forward meets monthly on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 PM
- Campton Forward hosts group social gatherings of Pot-Lucks, cook outs, etc.
- Campton Forward occasionally solicits financial support for specific group needs (such as Web site, printing, or postage costs) at meetings.
